The Raiders stunned the Beavers late in their 13-point comeback victory, where they scored all of their points in the final seven minutes of the fourth quarter. The Raiders would hold on in the final seconds to win 13-12 over the Alabama Beavers. Both offenses struggled early in the matchup, resulting in another defensive test for the Raiders.

The Raiders offense struggled to open the game once again. The run game showed signs early but failed to stay consistent throughout the game. The passing game struggled early as well, but when Sawyer Schick entered the game late, he was able to flip the script and march down the field to close out the game. The Raiders offense put up just over 230 yards of offense while scoring two passing touchdowns.

The Raiders’ defense struggled at times on the nights, but showed up when it mattered the most. The Raiders struggled against the Beavers pass game due to the elusiveness of Beavers quarterback Rashad Louie. The Raiders allowed 280 total yards and two passing touchdowns while adding nine sacks on the night.

The first half of the game was a defensive stalemate with neither side willing to give any ground. Towards the end of the third quarter, the first points of the game were scored by the Beavers. After an interception forced by the Beavers’ defense, they possessed the ball in the red zone. Just two plays later, Keith Wainwright was able to find Darren Clark for a jump ball in the corner of the end zone for a 15-yard passing touchdown. Malcolm Brooks would come in for the extra point, and it would be blocked by Cameron Hall. This would make it 6-0 Beavers with just over three minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The next score of the game came from the Beavers once again. This time, Jalin Ware was able to return a punt 58 yards to the Raiders 2-yard line. A few plays later, Wainwright would find Clark for another jump ball in the corner of the endzone, where Clark was barely able to keep his foot inbounds for the touchdown. The Beavers would go for two points but would end up being sacked, making it 12-0 with just over nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

On the following drive, the Raiders would march down the field. Starting at their 31-yard line, the Raiders had a quick six-play drive that lasted just over three minutes. After marching down the field, the Raiders possessed the ball at the 26-yard line when Schick was able to find an open Will Norwood for the touchdown. Mike Peralta would come on for the extra point and nail it, making it 12-7 with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

On the Beavers ensuing drive, the Raiders forced a quick three-and-out in just over two minutes. As a result, the Raiders possessed the ball at their 12-yard line with just under four minutes remaining in the game. The Raiders would then march down the field to the Beavers six-yard line. Schick would find Bubba Rewolinski over the middle of the field for the lead-taking touchdown. The Raiders would go for two to attempt to gain a three-point lead, but were unable to complete the conversion on an incomplete pass to Rewolinski. That made it 13-12 Raiders with 36 seconds left.

The Raiders passing game was inconsistent early in the game, but they brought it together at the end. Andre Locke, Jr. completed 7-of-15 attempts for 47 yards and one interception. Schick completed 7-of-14 attempts for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

The Raiders running game struggled to find the big plays in the matchup, and that showed in the box score. Leading the way was Howard Triplett, who tallied 15 carries for 53 yards. Behind him was Locke with six carries for 12 yards. Others with carries were Tom Benko, three carries for 10 yards, and Schick, with two carries for four yards.

Raiders receivers have built on their performance from last week, putting up over 153 yards through the air. Leading the way was Rewolinski, who totaled three catches for 49 yards and one touchdown. Behind him was Norwood, who added one catch for 26 yards and a touchdown. Others with receptions were Terrence Fitch with four catches for 36 yards, Triplett with three catches for 24 yards, Dillion Flores with one reception for 15 yards, and Ian Gaines with one reception for four yards.

Right behind him was Gage Zahradnik, who totaled four tackles and three sacks. Others with stellar contributions were Carter Mayer, who tallied six tackles and two sacks, Gary Young, Jr. with eight tackles and one sack, Willie Clay with three tackles and one sack, and Jordan Danowski, who added six tackles.

The Raiders will look to continue their winning streak this week when they face the Fayetteville (NC) Commandos on Saturday, July 5, at Historic Horlick Athletic Field for the team’s annual Armed Forces Appreciation Night game. The game will have a 7:00 pm CT kickoff, where gates open at 5:30 pm. Total Domination: Raiders Crush Roughriders 37-7   https://racineraiders.com/total-domination-raiders-crush-roughriders-37-7/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=total-domination-raiders-crush-roughriders-37-7 https://racineraiders.com/total-domination-raiders-crush-roughriders-37-7/#respond Fri, 27 Jun 2025 18:29:03 +0000 https://racineraiders.com/?p=20054 The Racine Raiders (6-2) are back in the win column with a dominant 37-7 victory over the River City Roughriders. After an offensive mishap early in the first quarter that led to a Roughriders score, the Raiders never looked back scoring 37 unanswered points. The Raiders offense showed signs of improvement this week, greatly improving the passing game, which has desperately needed this season. The Raiders defense returned to dominance last night, shutting out the Roughriders offense.

The Raiders once again started the game with an offensive turnover, but after that, they never looked back as they pulled farther and farther ahead. The Raiders offense put up just over 160 yards of offense while scoring one rushing and two passing touchdowns.

The Raiders defense continued their dominance, shutting out the Roughriders across the board. The Raiders defense allowed only seven total yards while adding seven sacks and four fumble recoveries with two were recovered for touchdowns.

The first score of the night came early in the first quarter. The Raiders had possession in their territory when a bad snap went over the head of quarterback Andre Locke, Jr. The fumbled snap was recovered by Todd Bland of the Roughriders and returned for a 30-yard touchdown. Kicker Jared Konsella came on for the extra point and hit it, making it 7-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The next score of the game came from the Raiders. The Roughriders possessed the ball inside their 10-yard line and looked to go deep when the Raiders defensive line put the pressure on and forced the strip sack. Ronald Haggins was able to fall on the fumble in the endzone for a fumble recovery touchdown. Mike Peralta came on for the extra point and nailed it, making it 7-7 with just under six minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The Raiders would score once again right before the end of the first quarter. After a huge 54-yard punt return by Jacquez Woodland, the Raiders had the ball at the Roughriders 34-yard line. Two plays later, Locke was able to find Bubba Rewolinski open in the corner of the endzone. Rewolinski was able to reach up while falling backward for the stellar one-handed 19-yard touchdown catch. Peralta would nail the extra point making it 14-7 with just under 30 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Raiders next score of the game would come from the Raiders defense once again. This time the Roughriders had the ball inside their 25-yard line and were in a fourth-and-long where they were forced to punt. On the punt attempt the ball would sail over the punter’s head and be recovered by Aarion Ivy for a fumble recovery touchdown. Peralta hit the extra point, making it 21-7 with just over seven minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Early in the second half, the Raiders defense would once again add points on the board this time coming from a safety. The Roughriders possessed the ball at their seven-yard line and were once again in a fourth in long scenario. On the punt attempt the ball went over the head of the punter and out of the back of the endzone resulting in a safety. This made it 23-7 with just over 13 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The next score of the game came from the Raiders offense when they forced their way into the endzone. The Raiders had the ball at the Roughriders two-yard line when Tavin Allen forced his way into the endzone making it 30-7 with just under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The Raiders would add another score on the board right before the end of the third quarter for the final score of the game. After another bad snap fumble by the Roughriders, the Raiders had possession at the Roughriders five-yard line. Quarterback Sawyer Schick was able to find an open Ian Gaines in the endzone for a five-yard touchdown. Peralta would nail the extra point once again making it 37-7 with just over one minute remaining in the third quarter.

The Raiders passing game greatly improved this week with their best performance of the season so far. Locke completed 10-of-17 attempts for 152 yards with one touchdown. Schick completed 2-of-3 attempts for nine yards and one touchdown.

YouTube Video

The Raiders running game struggled to get things going this week. Leading the way was Howard Triplett with five carries for 13 yards. Behind him was Locke with four carries for seven yards. Allen added two carries for zero yards and one touchdown while Tom Benko added two carries for eight yards.

Raiders receivers had their best week this past week. Leading the way was Rewolinski with two catches for 34 yards and one touchdown. Behind him was Gaines who added four catches for 30 yards and one touchdown. Others with receptions were Jashon Foster with one reception for 45 yards, Benko had two receptions for 24 yards, Rashawn Herron with one reception for 18 yards, and Rico Flores with one reception for 10 yards.

The Raiders defense returned to form absolutely dominating the Roughriders offense allowing only seven total yards while adding seven sacks, four fumble recoveries, and two touchdowns. Leading the way for the Raiders defensive line was Haggins who tallied two sacks, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown. Leading the way for the linebackers was a familiar name in Ivy who once again shredded the offense. Ivy totaled four tackles, one sack, one forced fumble/recovery, and a touchdown. Leading the way for the secondary was Corey Dalton who added two tackles and multiple pass breakups on the night.

The Raiders will look to continue their dominance this week when they face the Alabama Beavers on Saturday, June 28, at Historic Horlick Athletic Field. Heartbreak in Overtime: Raiders fall to Outlaws 16-15 https://racineraiders.com/heartbreak-in-overtime-raiders-fall-to-outlaws-16-15/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=heartbreak-in-overtime-raiders-fall-to-outlaws-16-15 https://racineraiders.com/heartbreak-in-overtime-raiders-fall-to-outlaws-16-15/#respond Thu, 19 Jun 2025 13:57:14 +0000 https://racineraiders.com/?p=19923 The Racine Raiders (5-2) struggles have continued this season, this time falling to the Phoenix Outlaws (11-0), 16-15, in overtime. In a game where there were 40 penalties given out, early on it looked to be another defensive battle for the Raiders. It was a back-and-forth night between the teams in what turned into a game where neither team could pull away and left fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The Raiders offensive struggles continued this week with both the passing and rushing game struggling to find a groove. The Raiders offense wasn’t able to find the endzone until overtime and it hurt them tremendously. The Raiders offense totaled 187 yards with 106 yards through the air and 81 yards on the ground while adding one touchdown. The Raiders offense also turned the ball over five time with three coming via interceptions and two from fumbles.

The Raiders defense shined on the night but weren’t able to close it out in overtime and seal the victory. The Raiders allowed 189 yards of offense and two passing touchdowns, but tallied six sacks and one forced fumble that was recovered for a touchdown.

YouTube Video

The Raiders once again started the game on offense and their early struggles continued. On the first play from scrimmage Tom Benko fumbled on the Raiders 24-yard line and it was recovered by the Outlaws. The Raiders defense was able to hold them to a three-and-out which resulted in a 38-yard field goal by Ross Langer to make it 3-0 Outlaws with just over 12 minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The next score of the game came from the Raiders dominant defense. After a quick, four-play drive by the Raiders, they were forced to punt. Brady Wodack came on and pinned the Outlaws inside their own 15 at the 12-yard line. On the first play of the Outlaws drive, linebacker Aarion Ivy rushed the edge and pummeled Outlaws quarterback Tyree Taylor causing him to fumble. Linebacker Gary Young, Jr., was able to recover the fumble in the endzone for a Raiders touchdown. Wodack came on for the extra point and nailed it making it 7-3 with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter.

To open the second half, the Outlaws received the kick and marched their way down the field mainly due to defensive penalties. As a result, the Outlaws possessed the ball at the Raiders’ 19-yard line and looked to score through the air. Outlaws Taylor was able to find DeAndre Dickerson for a spectacular grab in the corner of the endzone for a touchdown. On the extra point attempt, defensive lineman Cameron Hall was able to force his way through the line and block the extra point and Corey Dalton scooped it and returned it for two points. That would make it 9-9 with just under nine minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Following the Outlaws touchdown, the Raiders marched down the field in what looked like the drive that would close the game out. The Raiders drove all the way to the redzone where they were eventually stopped short. Wodack would come in for a 30-yard field goal and hit the right upright, missing, and keeping the score at 9-9 with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter.

YouTube Video

The next score of the game came from the Raiders on the first play of overtime. In overtime teams posses the ball at the opponents 25-yard line and aren’t given a time limit to score. On the first play of overtime, Andre Locke, Jr., was able to find Jacquez Woodland open down the field in the endzone for a 25-yard touchdown. On the extra point attempt the Outlaws jumped offsides moving the ball from the three-yard line to the one-and-a-half-yard line. As a result the Raiders attempted to go for two and Locke rolled out right looking for a receiver, ended up deciding to run it in, but was stopped short of the goal line, making it 15-9 with the Outlaws still having an attempt to score.

On the Outlaws overtime possession, they would be held to a fourth-and-one from the Raiders 16-yard line and they would convert on a pass to the three-yard line. The Raiders defense held strong, holding the Outlaws to a fourth-and-goal from the three-yard line. On the fourth down, the Outlaws didn’t score but due to a pre-snap false start by the Outlaws, they were given another chance where Taylor was able to find Billy Suing in the right front corner of the endzone for the touchdown. Langer would come in and make the extra point, giving the Outlaws the 16-15 victory in overtime.

The Raiders passing game struggles continued this week after coming off a game where they were showing improvement. Locke completed 4-of-8 attempts for 98 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Sawyer Schick completed 1-of-9 attempts for 8 yards and two interceptions.

YouTube Video

The Raiders rushing game struggled to get things going and it showed on the night. Leading the way was Rashawn Herron who tallied 64 yards on nine carries. Following him was Tom Benko who added 27 yards on 14 carries. Others receiving carries were Jason Kelly with 10 yards on 3 carries and Howard Triplett with 3 carries for 1 yard.

The Raiders only had five players record a reception on the night due to the struggles of the passing game. Leading the way once again was Tom Benko, who tallied a 49-yard reception on the night. Behind him was Woodland with one reception for 25 yards and a touchdown. Others with a reception were Bibby Davis with one reception for 18 yards, Travis Hayes with one reception for eight yards, and Dillion Flores with one reception for six yards.

The Raiders defense performed well in the loss allowing under 200 total yards and forcing two turnovers. Leading the way for the Raiders defense was Ivy who totaled 14 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble that was recovered for a touchdown. Following him was Young who added 10 tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Leading the way for the defensive line was Hall who tallied six tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. Leading the way for the secondary was Jordan Danowski who tallied seven tackles and multiple pass break ups.

The Raiders will look to bounce back this week when they face the River City Rough Riders on Saturday, June 21, at Historic Horlick Athletic Field. The Raiders faced the Rough Riders last season where they dominated 30-0. The game will have a 7:00 pm CT kickoff (gates open at 5:30).

As a result, Schick scrambled up the middle of the field and trucked his way into the endzone for an 11-yard rushing touchdown. Wodack would come on and hit the upright on the extra point resulting in a miss making it 27-0 with just over 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Buc-ee’s tops Kwik Trip in Historic Naming Rights Agreement https://racineraiders.com/buc-ees-tops-kwik-trip-in-historic-naming-rights-agreement/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=buc-ees-tops-kwik-trip-in-historic-naming-rights-agreement Tue, 01 Apr 2025 11:53:00 +0000 https://racineraiders.com/?p=18253 Buc-ee RaiderThe Racine Raiders and Buc-ee’s reached a historic naming rights agreement. As part of the agreement, the Raiders will take on the nickname “Buc-ee’s” to commemorate the chain opening a location in Southeastern Wisconsin. Beginning with the 2026 season, the team will become the Racine Buc-ee’s.

“Buc-ee’s wants to make a huge splash in this market,” said board president Matt Nelson. “We were willing partners to help guarantee the long-term success of our organization.”

The Raiders first approached Kwik Trip with a deal that would’ve seen the team renamed the Racine Glazers. Ultimately, Kwik Trip passed on the opportunity, leaving a chance for Buc-ee’s to jump in and steal away a unique opportunity.

While many minor league sports teams have adopted special nights where the team transforms their nickname and imaging for one night, this is believed to be the first agreement where a team has entered into a multi-year agreement to change their name and imaging.

“It’s definitely ‘out there’ in thought,” said Nelson. “However, minor league sports has always been about being on the cutting edge and trying new and different things.”

R.J. Raider will continue to be a mascot for the team but will change his name to Buc-ee Raider and have some modification made to his appearance to better represent the partnership.

The team has amassed more wins than any other professional advancement-level team in the United States, underscoring their dominance in the sport.
